window molding / rubber
hey forum, received my molding/rubber to go from one side to the other of the window and the convertible top but it has tears on the inside of the rubber about 6 to 8" long... the tears don't go through the rubber but do you think it's wise to install..mine isn't leaking and i scared it might if i install ? my problem is the window closing properly.. was thinking about spraying the side molding & rubber with silicone to see if the window slides in easier ? maby can avoid changing the molding/rubber.. any thoughts ???????????????????
tony
p.s. my rubber has splits right through it causing the rubber to buldge out a bit so window isn't sliding up correctly ??

molding window
...................
sorry having trouble with downloading pic.will try to explain better.
rubber molding that goes across top of convertible and down the sides of windshield frame... passenger side rubber buldges out a bit cause it has a tear through it and in return when i shut the passenger door the window doesn't slide under that piece of plastic that also runs down the side of windshield frame. the tear is causing rubber to not sit flush against the frame even when i try to put the window up only sometimes does it go up and into place , so the used rubber i brought doesn't look so good so i figured i'd try to spray the pass.side rubber molding with silicone in hopes it might do the trick ???? sound a bit crazy ????? hope i explained it alil better. tony
