Default Window Sticker 97 XK8 & General New Owner Gushing

Well, I officially took the plunge today.

After a pretty positive report card from the local Jaguar vet, I adopted my first cat today. My newly acquired triple black 97 XK8 convertible, "Mrs. Peel", has 86K miles, no rust, and is now tucked safely into the garage for the evening.

(I can neither confirm or deny reports that someone who looked a lot like me reopened the garage door several times tonight just to look at her again before going back into the house...)

Along with the only-to-be-expected stupid grin stuck on my face all afternoon/evening, it was especially gratifying when the first friend whom I showed it to was gobsmacked by how gorgeous the car is and could've been knocked over with a feather.

When I've been telling them what I've been hunting for the last month or more, I suspect they were imaging something more like an X-Type when I was babbling about XK8s...

I was unexpectedly delighted when I found the original window sticker tucked into a pocket in with the owners manuals. I also found a cute hand written note possibly form the original owner, entitled "Kitty Cat" listing some basic tips for some past cat sitter.

Now hopefully the snow will hold off here in MN and I can get to drive her for a good 3+ weeks before the snow flies and she'll stuck in the garage for 4-5 months.

You're lucky to get the sticker. There's been several posts in the past from members wanting to know how to get a copy for their vehicles. Clearly been a fastidous PO.

Unusual to see an early model in black. Looks great.

Very nice. I too catch my self parking in such a way that when I walk out of where I'm at I get a good look all the way to the car. Congrats.

Nice. Similar to my '97. Same color scheme. I don't have premium sound though.

As has been pointed out on this forum multiple times, if you are not doing that, you bought the wrong car. Welcome to the club, you are in good company here.
