Default Window Switch - passenger side - broken

The passenger side window switch has broken. The plastic button you press to raise and lower the window broke off.

I can get a new one from the dealer for around $95.

Anyone know how to remove and replace the switch? I sure don't want to break the wood surrounding the switch and I do no know how to get that off, or if I need to.

Thank you,

Jack

Check for a phillips head screw behind the rectangular piece of leatherwork (vertical) in the fingerwell just behind the window switch wood mounting plate. The switches wood mount is horizontal, the leather peice I mentioned is vertical and just fills space, You can pry it off with a flathead screwdriver, I forget if it is velcro or tab mounted at it's bottom.

Once it is off see the scew, take it out, lift the plate up. At least that's how it works in a 1998.

Thanks to the information you guys gave me I was able to remove the switch this morning and order a new one from the Jag dealer. Not difficult once you know how it is put together.

Thank you,

Jack
