Default Windscreen wipers - British Parts

Hi All,

Got a bit of an odd one here. I need new wipers and ordered a set from British Parts. When they arrived I fitted the passenger side one fine - no problem. When it came to the drivers side (the one with the 'wing') it would not fit as the attachment to fit it to the wiper arm was wrong. The passenger side one was rounded in profile, and the drivers side fitting was pointed. My wiper arms have the same size end on both.

When I contacted British Parts they asked me to send a picture of the two wipers - which i did, and even gave them my chassis number. They then informed me that they had sent the right parts and it must be a problem with my car. I disputed this but they would not change their stance.

So, can anyone with a 2003 XKR please confirm if both wipers have the same rounded attachment to the arm, or do you have one side rounded and one side pointy? Or are British Parts talking out of their ****?

This is what they sent.

This is the last pair I took off my car. I have to say that I am not impressed by British Parts, I told them about the problems with the upper arm bushes, which are total sh1te, they denied that there was any problem with them.

Yep, thought so, both should be the same. Sounds like this is par for the course with British Parts then. I'll avoid in future. Thanks.

Instead of throwing away perfectly good wiper blades, I go to my friendly local Jaguar Dealer and buy replacement wiper rubbers for them - P/N GNB8961AA

I swapped mine for Valeo "flat blades" R53/R55, although next time I would look for a set that had a better coupling to the arm as the valeo ones are a bit bulky.
