Default Winshield Washer Aim

Its good news when the only worry is where your windshield washer jets are spraying the wash...however with the impending winter weather they become increasing needed.

The three nozzles are spraying , but they are aiming down...to the point where the top of the windshield is getting nothing and the bottom nozzle is spraying off the windshield. Where on the wiper arm should the nozzles be placed for proper distribution of the washing fluid? Or, in the alternative, is there a way of aiming the nozzles?

Thanks in advance!

I too have problems with the windshield sprayer on my 2001 XKR. The stream is strong however does not spray evenly on the windshield. The spray pattern is erractic and should be directed in a smaller area on the windshield. Can the sprayer be redirected or does it need to be cleaned? If anyone has had a similar problem I would appreciate a reply.

IF YOURE REFFERING TO THE 6 PSRAYER DUCK BILL NOZZLES, YOU CAN AIM THEM. UNDER THE RUBBER DUCK BILLS ARE METAL NOZZLES, GRAB EACH ONE FIRMLY AND MOVE THEM TILL YOU LIKE THE PATTERN, AND ITS EASIER IF YOU FLIP THE ARM UP.

I have a problem with my 1998 XJR. It just sprays streams. I tried to clean it with a pin but I think it only made it worse. I'm sure I will need to replace it. Could someone please direct me as to where I can buy the replacement head that is attached to the wiper arm?
Thanks, Don

Not available separately from the arm a.f.i.k.

We had a recent thread on washers:

Discussed screen and headlamp washers.

So, I'm just out of luck then? Cos all I'm getting are streams not a good spray. I looked at the post you suggested but, didn't find any info that would help me with my problem. So, would I need to buy the whole wiper arm to get the new sprayer? If so, where can I buy that without giving up my first born child? lol

I knew they weren't available separately in the UK from the last time I needed one but have found them listed separately for the early cars in the US parts manual:

Still a lot of $$$$ and not much short of the cost of the complete arm.

Over here, I'd be going to a specialist Jaguar breakers. Similar source (if available in the US) is likely to be the way to save the first born.
