Winter Wheels - 09 XKR Portfolio

Guys, I am considering the purchase of an 09 XKR Portfolio. A couple of questions:
- What can I do for a winter wheel package? It has the Alcan brakes, so I don't think I can go to 19" wheels and snow tires?
- Do they make 20" snow tires? Unsure.
I could swap out to an all season tire for the winter on the stock 20" wheel, but I hate to be doing much changing on those delicate painted rims...Plus, I'd rather have a snow tire.
Ideas? Thoughts?
Thanks.

The Bridgestone Blizzak comes in 20" and has been reported to be very good.

Take what you would spend on a tire an wheel package, buy
a used suv, there pertty cheap right now, and leave the Portfolio in the garage for the winter.

Probably the better idea.

I wish I could let it sit for the winter, but this is ILLINOIS. Winter is 6 months long. Too long for me to be in some Subaru Forester or something. Here, most of us car guys that have cool daily drivers (M5s, RS6's, CTS-V's,etc.) slap on snow tires and roll out for the winter.
While winter is long, and theres always a chance of snow, there's really less than 30 days per year of actual snow on the ground. But, I have to get to work, meetings, etc.duringthose days too.
I am thinking I need some relatively inexpensive 20" rims and those snow tires as mentioned. Really, it's the wheels that get pounded by salt and brake dustin the winter.
This XKR is to be my daily driver, year-round. Anyone else doing this?

[sm=signs003.gif]........... I live in Chicago too; and have not driven any toy that I've had during the winter for the last 25 years. The thought of watching clowns sliding all around me is not my idea of fun. None of my friends drive their sports cars or GT's in the winter............
again good luck... I'm sure some folks do!
