Thanks to British Autowood, I now have a stunning new wood veneer dash. He came across this unusual "new old stock" in his storage. Since I had already had the steeringwheel and center shifter surround refinished in piano black to go with my brushed steel vinyl wrapped dash, I added the piano black and chrome detail to the new wood.
Was planning to go all piano black but this set was so beautiful and went with my exterior color so well, I left it wood!! I LOVE it!!

Philhef, very, very nice. Wish I could see this in person as I'm sure the photos do not do it justice.

My family is in NC and I'll be passing through In late May, driving the full length from Wilmington to Tenn. Might just have to make time to buy you a drink and leave a few drool spots on your car.

Indeed a nice touch, Phil. Glad to see a very appropriate wooden dash back in your car. These XK8s look so much better with wood. I know the kids prefer carbon fiber or a brushed titanium look these days, but they'll come to appreciate the wood once they grow up a bit....

Nice job....

Very nice Phil. Combined with the accents it really stands out.

Well, once I wrapped my XF in carbon, I decided I needed one of my two jags to have wood (that I liked). Almost sent veneer to be refinished in paino black until he found this. It's a great match to my paint.
Maybe someday I'll actually have a jaguar that has a wood veneer I like!! Or at lease not faded!

Default Naming your car??

Hello,

I see some of you have given your car a pet name.

Perhaps you could help me out with some suggestions for mine.

I thought about "Snowball" as many a "cat" have been given this moniker, however this seemed inappropriate for a black cat.

Do you have any suggestions?

How about "Felix" after the (black) cartoon cat. Felix is Latin for happy or lucky.
My Phoenix Red XK8 coupe is named Ruby!

Jagrag, Frosty, or FrostyPaws feels appropriate, eh?

I guess "I-wish-they-would-park-me-in-a-garage" is too long?
