Default XK8

Haven't bought one yet, but curious how low do they sit to the ground. Hopefully, not as low as a vette?

The springs do sag with age, but I hope you can find one that rides high enough.

Mine isn't as low as my lowered miata, but its close. I would say my head is about 8-10 inches lower than my lowered 2013 Mustang.

When I open the door, I definitely climb out of it. Probably similar to most vettes.

Welcome to the forum Cindy,

The ground clearance dimensions from Jaguar are:

XK8 Coupe: 5.7 in (144 mm)
XK8 Convertible: 5.5 in (139 mm)
XKR Coupe: 5.4 in (138 mm)
XKR Convertible: 5.2 in (133 mm)

However, this will vary with suspension wear and any mods by PO's.

Graham

I have a Toyota MR2 sw20. It sits lower to the ground as my XKR. Exept of the wheels (20 inch)the MR2 is standard is i feel like my bum is on the street. Not in the XKR. I would prefer it lower but don't want to change it.

Due to the added front air dam on the '05's and '06's, they sit lower up front. You have to be careful when driving over uneven pavement (e.g. driveway aprons) or you could do damage. I also watch out for parking space barriers and drive slowly over speed bumps.

My XKR Convertible, which is the shortest of the bunch based on this data; is "taller" in this regards that my 87 Corvette Convertible or my dads 63SW Corvette. I don't have to angle for driveways or speedbumps.
