Default XK8 1999 convertable.

My rear window shattered. I've been waiting to hear from window company, but they don't know if the window is stitched in or replaced with with glue??

Welcome to the forum HRH,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR section where many owners of the same model will see it faster.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - intro a MUST section and post an introduction about yourself and your XK8 for all members to see.

In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice on posting questions on the forum.

Graham

The plastic inside frame is stiched into the headliner, and the headliner therfore must be partially detached. The glass is glued to the canvas top outer frame, similar to normal windshield mounting.

Due to the complexity of the headliner mounting, I recommend you find a shop that has done this before.
