Default XK8 Door lock will not disengage

Need help here please. Passenger door lock is not unlocking and is locked closed. If I push Fob button, driver door inside handle or key, the door makes noise as if unlocking, tries 3 times then stops, and remains locked, I was able to pull door panel off from inside, but cannot get door to unlock and open. 2004 XK8 convertible. Thank you

Hi,
You've made a good start by getting the trim panel off
Take a look at this U-Tube video. It's for an XJ8 rear door, but it's pretty much the same. Starts about 6:10 - see what you think:

Here's a thread from chillyphilly which may help after you get things apart:

The mechanism is purely mechanical With the handle pulled out have you given it a good shoulder barge from the inside to push it open?

Thank you, that is the video I followed. It's a good reference. Our XK8s have the actuator attached to the latch under a plastic cover. I was able to get cover off (just one screw with a very shallow screwdriver) and break off the actuator's hook/eyelet to the latch. Then I could unlatch the door. Took the whole thing out and the actuator was solid stuck! The repair will be easy, once I find just the actuator, otherwise is buying the whole latch assembly. And then 3 door panel clips (the 3 front ones where panel goes into side of dash, cannot help but get wasted)

Pushed and huffed like the big bad wolf after the piggies! The actuator "stem" itself was stuck solid, but its motor was giving it 3 tries each time.
