Hi all
I have an immaculate 1996 xk8 coupe that was built in England shipped to Japan and imported into New Zealand
My question. Is there any way i can trace back the history or any information about this car.
Really keen to find out its history
In short, unless you can find the PO on a forum or such like, pretty much zero, then even if by some fluke you did, you would most likely have a substantial translators bill.
Source of information, the personal experience of importing and exporting countless motorcycles to and from Japan
Dave01,Due to EU-Japan Trade agreements, vehicle export data was only recorded accurately from year 2000 but then in 2002 the Japanese Customs stopped sharing it. So the Jaguar X100 export sheet is incomplete.
Prior to then, X100 exports to Japan were simply counted within the ‘Rest of World’ category. So, if yours was shipped in 1996 then it was one of the 356off counted.
Personally, I think It will be impossible to trace the international shipment and importing receiver of your vehicle. You would need influence with the Japanese import authority to search their archives and only James Bond can get that!
