In My search the last week for an xk8 I've notice a few differences

2001 The front bumper recieved larger fogs
"Jeweled" tail lights
Drivers seats received head rests

2003 V8 displacement went up from 4.0 to 4.2
Headlights went from chrome to black

2005 Different front and rear bumpers,
Addition of rocker panels/side skirts
No moldings (which I love)

Are those correct? Did I miss any thing? How do the door moldings mount on the 04 down?

 

When the lights went from Chrome to Black, they also went from Halogen to HID. Wish I had the HID...

 

The mouldings are just stuck on, some people have removed them a search should find some details.

 

Transmission went from 5 speed to 6 speed in 2003 along with the 4.2.

 

Was the structure stiffened in 2003? I remember it reading somewhere years ago

 

And for those of us with older engines, don't forget the switch to 3rd gen metal chain tensioners (2003 MY?). Not cosmetic, but certainly noteworthy.

 

Not sure what year it was added, probably '03 with all the other changes but my '06 has chrome rings around the instruments that my '99 did not. I think it looked better without.
