Default XKR 5 speed same as XJR 5 speed??

Seems like a silly question but I couldn't find the answer. Looking for a core to tear apart. Sometimes things such as tailshafts are different

Thanks!

They share a lot of parts, and if you mean just the gear box, then yes these are the same. The drive shaft is different again, as is the diff (pinion).

You can also check the JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalogue), it’s still somewhere linked here.

Thanks. Yes just the gearbox. Mine used and abused and I can get a low mile unit out of an xjr. With some makes of cars the transmission is identical but things such as the tailshaft may be longer or linkage on the opposite side. Kind of ruled out one and was curious if the unit itself was bolt up and go.
