Default XKR Adaptive Cruise Control Sensor

Hi everyone
I have a 2003 XKR and the adaptive cruise control sensor is not working giving me the "Cruise not available" message. It didn't work when I got the car, but its one of those anoying things I would love to fix. Previous owner apparentl tested the microswitches etc so I am pretty sure its the sensor/radar unit. However, the best price I can find for a replacement is $4000. I have seen several on ebay for a couple hundred $ which I would be good with, but with different part numbers. Mine is a Delphi with the no 2W93-9AA12-BB and ACC9619T12234017.
1. Can anyone tell me if other units are interchangeable?
2. I have seen several posts about the possibility of deleting the sensor from the system by programming it out - has anyone done this or have any information on howw to do it?

Any help or suggestions appreciated!

I have the same issue with my 2000 XKR. Micro switches and console button replaced already by former owner. My Jag specialist had a look and told me that it is NOT possible to program the radar out of the cruise control system. So, some cars can have the annoying light switched off by cutting out the ACC to standard CC and others do not. All needs to be done with the Mongoose SDD. Holding the "cancel" button for some time did not work either. Now on the look for LJD1960AA for a reasonable price. But i'm not prepared to have one for thousands of duku. The ACC radar is an annoying device that starts breaking when a vehicle comes towards you. When the system is not programmable you can't switch from ACC to standard Cruise.Control.

Default Have you check your brake pedal switch

A faulty brake pedal switch or even having defective (not canbus) LED brake lights could be the cause.

i had both NO CRUISE WARNING with my 2006 XK8 Victory Edition
