Hi guys,

Here are some pictures of my new exhaust system. Two high flow 200 cell cats. X-pipe and under suspension all open silencers. Performance is much improved because the old cats ware broken and the metallic inside came loose and clogged it up. Sounds is a great improvement !

Nice looking setup. I am less familiar with the XKR/Mercedes combo, but I would consider revisiting the heat shielding between the cats and the transmission. The 4.2 XK8 I am more familiar with has an aluminum plate/skirt on both sides between the exhaust pipes and the transmission. In your case, you could have even more heat as the catalytic conversion is exothermic I believe. This might eventually warp the pan and cause a leak, or worse I suppose.

I like the attention to detail, and the way it is tucked as high as possible. And the badge-less look, is a nice touch, in the long standing Belgian tradition.

Thanks, and good idea about the cats. I will look in to that. Would not like to experience a tranny failure any time soon 😂. I will get her on the bridge this week to measure the heat generated and transferred to the tranny. Most of the times the badge is removed to hide the smaller size engine 🙊.
