Default XKR vs. Porsche vs. BMW...on the beach with Top Gear. Great video.

Hello guys,

Saw this on television the other night. Big fun with the Top Gear boys at Pendine Sands in the British Isles, with a 2005 (or so) XKR Coupe, a BMW 645Ci and a Porsche 911.

Guess which one turns out to be their favorite?

If you haven't seen this yet, enjoy.

You can see the video HERE.

I see there's a Top Gear in the US now and they've just started showing it on BBC3 (UK). The presenters seem a bit young to me, and a lot of the ideas have been lifted straight from the UK show (obviously the same production company), but it's not at all bad.

Link.

I was surprised to see Clakson fit into the Jag without scrunching his head down. I think he's a few inches taller than I am and my head touches the top when it's up. Perhaps the coupe has a bit more headroom?

Clarkson is 6'5" and yes, there is slightly more room in the coupé. I'm 6'2" and I have plenty of headroom.

Great stuff. Top gear is a favorite at our house. English Channel crossing and trying to kill the Toyota pickup are top picks.

Africa special turned my 19 year old daughter onto Lancias. She has an "I am the Stig" sticker for her Civic.

Reliant Robin testing is hilarious. After all, a car with three wheels - as they say, what could possibly go wrong?

I watched it, too. They liked the Jag the best, even considering its age. Remarkable.

Of course, they didn't have to maintain it.
