Default XKR/XK8 hood swap

I was contacted this morning by the owner of a 2004 XKR I have known for a few years. His car was rear ended and is being totaled out by the insurance company. His hood ("bonnet" for our British cousins) is in perfect shape. There is nothing wrong with my hood, but I have always liked louvered hood on the XKR which takes me back to the XKE.

Now the question. Will the 2004 XKR hood fit on my 98 XK8 without modification?

I've moved your post to the older XK section.
I'm pretty sure the answer is 'yes'.

The part Numbers are consistent across the Model Years .................

S/C : FJB3005FA
N/A : FJB3005AA

............. and other members have previously reported switching a S/C louvred for a N/A plain so you should be OK.

Question:
Where does the water go when it rains on the bonnet louvers? It looks to me as if it would leak on some electrical points. I've wanted them on my car as well.

It mainly seems to go away but enough gets onto the engine to rust the valve cover bolts.

If the rain is a problem, let me have the bonnet.
I've always admired the louvres and I never drive in the rain

Good question about the rain. I asked the current owner and he said it was never an issue. He "assumed" the heat from engine evaporated the water. He also pointed out that the car was sheltered when not being driven.

I'm going to look at the hood tomorrow.
