My wife and I are on our way home this morning from our annual 2000 mile trip from London Ontario Canada to Myrtle Beach South Carolina in our 2004 XK8 convertible.
We pulled over to make an entry into the GPS and I turned on the 4 flashers. After pulling back on the road my wife tried to turn off the 4 ways and they didn't turn off. We drove about 25 miles with the flashers on trying to turn them off. It was pouring rain so I found an abandoned gas station to pull into. I unloaded the stuffed trunk thinking maybe if I undid the battery it might reset things; that doesn't work.
Next I thought maybe like old cars I could pull the flasher so I listened and fealt every relay for a clicking. Nothing. Of course my wife is starting to get worried that we might have to drive 900 miles with 4 way flashers. Of course taking the convertible is my thing even though she is approaching 200,000 km. My wife would be just as happy making the trip in her Hyundi.
So now I get on my phone and go this forum and type in 4 way flashers. Turns out there are a number of solutions most involving removing the switch panel. That was not going to happen with my toolkit; 1 pair of needle nose pliers. There was one posting though that said they had gotten the switch turned off by prying it back to the off position with the edge of a credit card. It worked, thank you so much for the hint, all is well with the world.

Maybe try spraying the switch with electrical cleaner. Its probably got some buildup of grimey goo in its nether regions.
I keep a spray can around for stuff like switches, tv remotes, key fobs, etc..

also happened to me, just put something behind the switch and gently pull it back, now it does not stick....also happened with the passenger seat switch for moving seat forward/back, again stuck with dirt...fixed both things....old car stuff.
