Jack up lower control arm to relieve spring pressure on ball joint nut

Ball joint removal uses a torx socket to hold the shaft in place while nut is removed. Mine where not siezed and came off easily.

The OEM boots are secured by these spring clips, but I could not reattach them. I used zip ties to secure them.

To grease the fittings, a hypodermic type needle was used. It punctures the new boot with a small hole. I was skeptical at first, but the hole sealed itself and no lube leaked out

Here is the grease fitting needle package. It cost about $6. I used the needle to grease the other ball joints on the front suspension.

Torx socket secures shaft while removing nut. Mine were both easily removed, eg. not seized into tapered hole.

These are the top and bottom ring spring clips. I could not reinstall them. I tried, different approaches to no avail. Ended up using zip ties... much easier.

I used a hypodermic-type grease gun attachment to penetrate the new boots and fill with lube. Worked very well

Here's the needle attachment. I used it to grease all the boots on the front suspension include lower control arms, tie rod ends, etc.

Happy with the results. You can't see it in the pic, but I used a paint stick marker so I can tell if the bolt backs off.
