Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
2003 coupe, first sold in 2004, maintained by car nut, engine incredibly clean.

Major service at 77,000 miles, replaced: timing belt and tensioner, PS belt, AC belt, heater hoses, radiator hoses, plugs, wires rotor, etc. All preventative service to take it through 100k miles was performed. Then, wife found BMW, I found an XK8.

This is a cherry car, just off manufacturer's warranty as of january this year. Most at this mileage are time bombs just like older XK8's as timing belt and tensioner is recommended at about 60,000 to 75,000 miles but they stretch it out on california cars to 100,000. No chance with this guy, replaced it as soon as I did not have to have dealer take care of it to not void warranty.

Plugs and wires are a hassle too, intake manifold has to come off. Change interval is 100,000 miles if you use platinum plugs. We did and put best wires available on at 77,000 miles.

Runs quiet enough that radio off, AC fan off, stopped at light you have to listen carefully to hear engine.

Roller cam design has automatic valve lash adjustment to keep constant contact with cams. very low noise, low wear and long lasting valve design. Inspected for wear and proper operation, replaced one adjuster that did not repsond to tension test same as others (still within tolerance but did not want to go back in).

Oil pump was inspected, no measurable wear. Slight start of finish polishing on side opposite discharge but not even wear marks on interior pump surfaces. Rod caps and main caps were tight with no lateral movement, left undisturbed as condition looked perfect. Cylinder walls were observed from bottom only but mirro smooth.

Buyer's inspection can be arranged at dealer of buyer's choice. Seller will reimburse buyer if any adverse findings turn up that kill deal and reduce cprice by amount of inpsection if deal goes through. Seller gets copy of independent report if deal does not go through. That way dealer is working for buyer on inspection process.

See engine photos in my album!

Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Polished chrome alloy wheels are stock but several steps up from base model. Pirelli P6 V rated tires are about 5,000 miles old. The last set went about 45,000 miles. The original equipment Goodyear wingfoots were gone at 23,000 miles. Read more ยป
