Description:
I finally got my 1963 XKE home from Texas to Oregon where I now have a large shop to play in. It has a balanced Chevy 350 and a Muncie 4 spd. Interior has been redone in black leather, including the headliner. All chrome has been redone. It basically needs pulled apart, cleaned, brakes and all movable parts redone and repainted. I will be adding a temperature controlled switch for the cooling system as well. I am planning on repalcing the original chrome spoked wheels with tubeless ones. I've wanted one of these since I was about 7 and living in California.

Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
I bought this 63 XKE in Texas about 4 years back. It had been with the 2nd owner since 1965 when he was 16. His father had to be on the title for 2 years until he was 18. I have all the documents going back to when he first acquired it. Unfortunately, I don't have the original motor and trans. It is a factory AC car. I finally got it home and bought a place with a large shop to play in. Now I've got a lot of work to do before it hits the road again. I can't wait to drive this thing. I've wanted one of these since I was 7.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
Balanced 1970 Chevy 350 with 4 bbl 600 Holley double pumper carb and a Muncie 4 speed tranny. I would have loved to have gotten the original engine and tranny. I got a great deal on the car, but it would have been a super deal with the original numbers matching engine. Having a hard time deciding whether to stay with the Chevy drive train or try to find an older Jag motor and trans.
Suspension Modifications:
None but needs brake system redone or replaced with something newer.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Factory Chrome spoked wheels. Will be replacing them with newer tubeless wheels.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Interior was all redone with black leather, including the headliner. I finally got the bonnet off and that's about it. I have too many projects!!!
Future Modifications:
The guy I bought it from was quite a machinist and mechanic for the early 70's. He basically built the car I dreamed of. I'm not going to change much, just disassemble the entire car and clean/sand blast/soda blast, polish, paint everything and put it back together. It looks like about a five year job. Now that I retired again, I've got the time. Just need money and motivation. Read more ยป
