The outside dimensions of the Aluminium body and stowed Arms is the same as the plastic it replaced. Therefor, the cupholder closes fully in exactly the same way.

The original cupholder had sprung plungers to retain cups. These are deleted in favour of sprung arms but this image reveals the old slot in the lower plastic section and also the 3 types of M3 screws used.

The Arm hinge profile protrudes when stowed, so a small clearance needs to be cut out of the plastic on both sides - see other pic.

The white hatched areas need to be trimmed away from the plastic housing to enable the new Arms to clear when closing/opening.

To give the Arms free swing action, a clearance radius needs to filed on the lower plastic edges as shown.

The existing torsion springs can sometimes prove to be too old or weak and so new replacements will be required.

The dia 4mm hole position relative to the 6mm corner is critical to keep maximum arm opening to full round. Notice the 18.9mm length is correct on STEP and STL files but this dimension is not shown on pdf drawing.

I added a small post (max 35mm high) to lift the sprung arms clear of the leather sides. This post is optional and only necessary if your Cupholder deployment spring has become weak.

Both Arm pivot bolt heads require clearance cut into the plastic. This work is not normally visible which is good because i made a mess of it.
