The hatch arrived with the wing in the closed position. In this position, the wing cannot be removed, causing the issue that started this thread.

The wing needed to be activated into the open position so that the wing mounted screws could be accessed, allowing removal of the wing

I ended up cutting an access hole from the hatch interior so that I could get to these wires and apply 12V to the actuator motor, deploying the wing .....

Once the wing was deployed, the project could continue. After removing the wing, I was able to remove the cover plate and then unscrew and remove the actuator assembly ....

And from that point on, everything was plug and play. Here is a "soft fitting" of the wing.

After the soft fitting, parts will be removed and sent to the painter. I'm still debating if I should paint the lower wind deflector or not (I kinda dig it in black) ......

It was a fun project and I think I'm really going to enjoy the finished product. Best of all, I saved a TON of $ by finding this wing at a used auto parts business!

This is an example of the deck lid that provides housing for the articulating arms of the SVR motor assembly. Note the black "pod" type covers molded into the lid.

Here is a photo of the deck lid and SVR motor assembly / articulating arms I had purchased (used) when I upgraded my "R" to include an SVR wing. I had to paint my deck lid cover to match my car color.

ANNNNND ... a photo of all three components installed. As mentioned, all the connections are plug-n-play when replacing the oem wing and motor over to the SVR assembly.

Here is a pic of the complete antenna panel from the coupe that must be removed. Note: there are (6) 10mm nuts that have to be removed before you can pry the panel up from the plastic clips. (2) nuts are openly accessed from the top edge of the rear hatch, and there are (2) more nuts on each side of the edge of the hatch underneath a small pop-out plastic cover.

Once the panel is free, you will find data cables attached to the antenna that must be unplugged before you can remove the panel and access the antenna

To remove the data cables, you must first access the white release tab. In my case, I had to rotate each cable to get to the release tab ....
