The seats were reupholstered on the original frames at the same time everything else was done, using the best quality automotive vinyl and velour avaliable. These are the Very Best seats ever! I Never felt like I was in danger of losing control of this car no matter how hard I took a corner. These seats held my butt Right where it was supposed to be, and that went for my passenger too!

This was the most fun car I ever had and the one I felt safest driving. That includes my Jaguar. Comparing the two is like comparing apples and bananas though, because they're Completely different cars built for different purposes.

I was quite proud of this conversion. The car only weighed about 1500 pounds with me and a full tank of gas. 1800cc under the hood made it Perfect as a run around town Roller Skate.

Limited Edition: When this car came to live with me it had a positively Wretched soft top. I considered having a new one made, but the cost was prohibitive at the time so I never got around to it. I never drove it in bad weather anyway, and after a short while I realized it looked much better topless. She stayed this way until the day I sold her.

The whole interior was refurbished with higher quality than stock materials. Velour seat inserts held me in the seat like I was glued there.

Door panels were the only original pieces remaining after refurbishment. There was nothing wrong with them, and besides, I liked them. The windows still rolled up, but without a top there was no point.

All hood and trunk badges were removed at the time I had it painted. Appearance was Vastly improved. Only on the front fenders just behind the front tire did it proclaim its name; DATSUN 1600.
