On the left a Jaguar OEM Oil Filter EBC 9658 On the Right a Mann Filter W 930/13 Both are the same size 93mm X 120mm and both fit exactly the same. You can also see my Oil Filter Chain Wrench which will undo most if not all Car Oil Filters

Even with the Side Cut through the Lock Nut wouldn't come off.

It took all day to get this nut off without damaging the Thread of the Shock Absorber

Everything got in the way of using a Hacksaw to cut through the side of the Shock Absorber Lock Nut

So much easier if you take the Wheel off. The smaller Jack is to lower the suspension and then assist the Shock Absorber back into place.

Once you've got this Nut undone its almost like Painting by Numbers.

Instead of using Axle Stands, if I don't need to take the Wheels off I sit the Tyres on either 2 or 4 of these.

Providing you can get underneath, replacing the Rear Brake Pads is quite easy.

Just undo the Lock Nuts where you see the Spanner, then Screw the Nut against the Tube to tighten it up.

The end result was a very pleasing tight round 'Crimp' that does what it says on the tin. and so much better than I got with my 'el Cheapo Crimpers'

After using the Strippers to Strip the Wire, I slid on an Insulated Terminal (in this case a joiner) and then used the Adjustment Screw to set the depth of 'Crimp'

With the Knee Pad removed there's more room to get to the Brakes.

Since the edge of this Knee Pad sometimes catches the toe of my Shoe when I brake, I thinking of leaving the Knee Pad off altogether.

The lower edge of the Knee Pad is deceptively wide at just over 15mm

If you don't keep the toe of your Shoe in the space between the pedals and knee pad, then sometimes this happens! Which would not be good in an emergency braking situation.

When changing from the gas pedal to brake, it seems as if you have to keep the toe of your Shoe in the space and then slide it over from one pedal to the other.

It's easy to catch the toe of your Shoe on the edge of the Knee Pad protector when you go to put on the brakes.

That Trim Panel can catch the toe of even a light pair of Shoes.

On my 1989 XJS there is no Metal Bar or Cumbersome Trim Pad in the Way of the Brake Pedal.

The Trim Clicks onto the Metal Bar just above the Brake Pedal. Which gets in the way of putting your foot on the Brake Pedal.

Loads more room to get to the Brakes in my 1990 with the Knee Pad Under Tray removed but should I put it back?

Loads more Leg Room on my 1989 XJS thanks to the Thinner Knee Pad. Making it very easy to get to the Brakes without catching your foot.
