It's possible the wood is slightly further out than before, but it's flush with the glovebox lid and doesn't rattle, so for the moment, I'm going to leave well enough alone.

And here's the new two-piece looking perfectly happy without any modifications. (The Liquid Leather scent thing hanging from the indicator stalk has long lost its scent of wet cardboard.)

Urgh. What is this muck? It's soft, and slightly greenish. Mould? This is NOT the side that leaks, however. But the flashing at the bottom of the chrome still doesn't quite make it all the way to the edge.
