1st camera was good.. but was a cubic shape. Would be difficult to cut a square hole. I remembered I ordered a brand new Natika AHD camera a while back..and used it instead.

The housing needed to be trimmed some. This camera had a metal housing, which made it a PITA.

This part was nerve wracking. I had the drill torque set too high. The bit snagged, cause a kickback..and scratched it a bit. It could've been worse.

I didn't want to fully rid of this aluminum part. I lined the camera to trace around it..then used snips to cut it out. I made remove the case of the camera also. Its sealed inside and has half and inch of hollow space. Plus it will not be exposed to the weather.

This part is what will be swapped to the non-illuminated vents. It has 2 tiny tabs that needs to slide under 2 notches on the other (see next pic)

I also noticed some of these plastic ones have only 2 mounting screws, while the aluminum has 3 holes. Can anyone give some insight on this? How do I know which one I need?

Car is a 2016 XJL

Used a loaner serpentine tool to pry it up... made this part a breeze. This helped out tremendously. Its soft and doesn't damage anything.
