Don't try this at home! I did this now on the third car, no damage caused, but it is hairy and risky and therefore I would not recommend it - especially as I welded myself the required special tool anyway to be able to tighten the balancer-bolt back on again. So what I did here was that I wedged the big ratchet in position against a solid part of the car body and carefully and briefly activated the starter-motor to let it do the Hard Yakka (hard work).
