This is how it looks with all the hoses, wires, air filter housings, etc. I still need to tidy things up, and, maybe add a few more details for aesthetic interest.

Continued from previous photo: The speaker grills on the front of my storage box have electric fans mounted behind them, which will circulate cool cabin air to the electronic components that will be hidden inside the storage box.

On the right is a photo of the storage compartment from an XJSC, which is similar to the look I hope to achieve. I will need to trim/cut my storage box to fit the backseat dimensions, and I'll need to either dye the gray carpet to match JagZilla's dark tan carpets

This is a rough sketch of what I am working toward with JagZilla. It leaves out some of the finer details, but, I think it conveys the attitude of the car fairly well.

I've roughed out this illustration to see what my '84 XJS coupe might look like If I decided to use the doors and side glass from my convertible to create a "hardtop" version of the car, where there would be no glass or window frame in the way when you roll down the windows...and, thanks to the wiring in the convertible, I could simultaneously roll all the windows down with the flip of a single switch, or just roll down the individual front windows when I only want one or two windows open.

On the left is a photo of the test fitting of the storage compartment from an '89 XJS convertible into the area formerly occupied by the back seat in JagZilla. The back seats in these cars are useless for anyone larger than a pre-schooler, so I want to install something that will be more practical, and will hide the on-board PC, powered sub woofer, speaker crossovers, and associated wiring. See the next identical pic for more info...

This is the Richmond 6-speed transmission after I cleaned it up, and before I cracked it open to inspect it for wear. You can also see the 3.54:1 rear end assembly from the donor sitting in the background.

This is how the GTJ motor looked when I pulled it out of the donor. You can see the revised oiling scheme, which pumps oil to the back of each cam tower. The bell housing is also from GTJ, with a Centerforce clutch and a Tilton Hydraulic throw out bearing. I was surprised at how clean and oil-free the motor was. Most V12s look like a lump of oil when you pull them out.

Here is the Richmond opened up. Everything looked good. I replaced the seals, buttoned it up, and filled it with Royal Purple Synthetic Gear Lube.

This is the back of the "A Bank" head. You can see the GTJ stamping at the top right as well as a circular tag attached to the recessed area. As I understand the story from the previous owner, the tag was from an Atlanta machine shop, which set up the heads for the Crane cams.

This shows the custom dash with 7" touchscreen, and better shows the DVD drive (directly below the stereo) for the on-board PC in the donor car. All of this is being transferred to JagZilla.

Stock vs Solid Aluminum Front Subframe Mounts

Comparison photo showing the difference between the stock rubber mounts, which are located at the front mounting position of the front suspension subframe, and custom solid aluminum subframe mounts. The original mounts show how poorly British rubber products stand up to typical wear-and-tear inflicted by 26 years and 130,000 miles.

Backside of Modified Dash

An even closer view of the back side of the modified dashboard. The metal work is kinda sloppy, but, it will be hidden by the new Burled Walnut panels on the front.

Modified Center Duct

This is a closer view of my modified center duct. I did this to keep hot air from blowing on the back of the PC/ SATNAV touch screen I installed in the dashboard. Thr block-off panels are cut from a sheet of styrene plastic which is available at most hobby shops.

Looking inside the intake port of cylinder 6B on JagZilla's original motor. I ported these heads myself in 2001, after reading a DIY article online. Although this is a slightly different angle than the photo of my GTJ port, you can see the port opening is matched to the gasket opening size, and that there is a significant difference in the amount of material surrounding the valve. What isn't apparent is that the port is significantly larger all the way down to the valve head, and that the sharp inner radius has been smoothed out, creating a much gentler curve toward the valve head, and greatly reducing the bottleneck which is present in the stock intake ports. If I remember correctly, each of my ports now average 39mm for the full length of the ports. I believe the stock ports are 33mm but, are considerably smaller than that where the port curves downward to the valve head.

Looking inside the intake port of cylinder 6B on my GTJ motor. The port seems to be slightly larger and better shaped than a stock port. However, the opening is not enlarged to the same size as the intake manifold gasket (a process referred to as "port matching"), the full bronze valve guide is intact, and although the port material surrounding the valve guide has been shaped, there is still a good bit of it remaining in the port.

Unique rear anti sway bar mount location. It is welded to the lower radius arm for firmer, more precise control than if it were welded to the trailing arms, as is usually done by owners.
