This is how the capstan sits with no spindle and shows how the spring pushes the capstan over. The only thing that stops this is the spindle - but that means that the bushing (can be seen in the centre) wears on one side - in fact the spindle ends up not being vertical.

These are the Mk 2 coil packs - note no special ridge on the plug towers, they're also smaller. The others are on the car so I can't do a side by side but I will take a side by side when I pull the Mk1's
