This is my first post on this form. I am a original owner of a 1974 XKE series 3. The short story is...that has been in a repair facility on a rack for the past 30 years. I decided I wanted to retrieve it and get the car back on the road. Part of the car has been disassembled on the pretense of working on it. Today I went to look for the bill plate which is absent. The Vin number and the frame number appear to be correct and are the same. Do the pictures below seem to be correct. Any help would be appreciated. I do have someone who can rebuild the car if I can get most of the car out of the shop. Is there a reason for someone to steal a builder plate? Motor AD 450?
I can only upload 1 picture at a time?

I'm not sure what you're trying to show us in your attached picture. This is not where the Build Plate resides on a S3 E Type. The windscreen washer pump and the capacitor for the heater are located in that area.
The build plate is situated at the centre top section of the firewall, as shown below. If you have all the numbers of the car, Chassis, Engine, Gearbox, etc, you can purchase a blank plate from SNG Barratt and stamp with your details.

Brent

No. The engine number is at the top of the Engine Block, in the centre of the valley of the "V", at the rear of the engine, immediately forward of the leading edge of the bell housing. See the attached picture.
