Battery conditioner

Battery conditioner
I ordered the 2 parts for the battery conditioner about a week ago. The parts came in on Tuesday and I had the wiring harness installed today by the dealer. They did a great job installing it. It was about a half hour of shop time and cost about $75 in labor.
Having the battery in the trunk makes this really nice and convenient, and they were able to install the socket sturdily facing outwards from the battery compartment.

We have been having some discussion about this charger in the S Type section, maybe you could hop over and set us straight?

I've been using the CTEK 3300 since I purchased my 2010 XK 4 months ago. I wouldn't even think of not owning one. At my local Jag dealership, I can see some of their showroom cars hooked up to the tenders as well. It not only assures no electrical gremlins, but can prolong the battery life for years beyond it's normal life span. Great product. FYI, there is a huge thread on the XK/XKR forum on the CTEK 3300.

I see a use for that kit you ordered and had installed. Can you offer the details of this kit?
happy trails....

This is what I found from one dealer - seems the kit is selling for ~$417USD - for both the conditioner and the harness. Seem really expensive. Is this what others are seeing?

Thanks for pics of install
Thanks for the pic of the install. It was very helpful to see where they did the install on the coupe.
I ordered the Jaguar accessories (charger/harness) and decided to install it myself. I was having new wheels changed out for my summer tires while the dealer stores the original wheels with my new winter tires till I need them. They offered to do the install on the conditioner but they also indicated it was an easy install. Not that I am a 'hands in the engine' guy but thought it would be a easy project for DIY.
Oddly enough the installation pamphlets included were for everything except my F-Type R. I did see online Jaguar instructions for the F-Type roadster but since the trunks are different. . . I much prefer the install location in the pictures provided since it s really hidden away and reduces the need to take the whole liner apart etc.
As they say a picture is worth - - -
I just had an install of a similar device done on my 2014 Maserati Ghibli S Q4. It is clear that the devices are all made by the industry leader - - however the means of connection differ. Also the one for the Maserati includes a few more icons insofar as what is happening - - the Jaguar one had a more simple display/indicator. The Maserati uses a break-a-way connector (don't ask but I can tell you it works)- - - however that results in the connector poking out from the side storage area. I think the Jaguar connector has a more finished look - - but again I must remember disconnect before backing out of garage - - duh!
One last observance - - I had the conditioner in the Maserati installed because my battery went dead at 1k miles and 3 months old. It seems the Maserati's are not so perfected on battery management. I know from my Jaguar XJL Supercharged and my Range Rover that typically there are warnings and power downs that prevent completely dead batteries even after a few months. So even though I might not need it in the F-type it seems better than a dead battery hassle. Let me tell you a dead battery in a Masserati parked in the garage is not a fun thing to deal with - -they have the oddest places to hide electronic emergency brake releases and transmission releases - - not to mention the car goes a bit psycho with a dead battery - - -
