Group Buy: Aluminum pedal sets for both Automatic and Manual
There have been a few floating threads on this topic gaining some traction so I thought I'd try to consolidate them to organize a group buy.
We have two potential options for automatic and one for manual.
Ultimate Pedals makes several custom styles and options for both manual and auto.
Aftermarket pedal set may be available for auto only if I can get some measurements from an Auto owner I can quickly tell if this will work for us Auto owners. Need someone to take measurements of their Auto pedals in their F-Type for me and post measurements.
This is our current interest list:
polarisnavyxj: Auto, dead plate, 2 heel guards, ?? finish .
99Gsp: Manual, dead plate, 0 heel plates, smooth finish with domed inserts.
Inspector-G: Manual, no dead plate, 0 heel plates, shiny anti-slip with domed inserts
Unhinged:Manual, full flange and growler logo on dead plate only, lower left toe/heel extension, satin anti-slip with domed inserts, no heel guard.
Please add to it so when it's time to pull the trigger, all info will be here in this post, in one place.
Picture legend:
1: Economy Jaguar pedal set as shown in my Jaguar XJ
2: Economy heel pad
3: UP flanged gas pedal
4: UP logo'ed pedal in frost finish
5: example of what can be done custom
6: Arden steel pedal set for F-Type
7: Stock F-Type
8: OEM dead pedal
9: Ford GT Aluminum set
10: Ferrari 488 oem
As we can see, the gaudy chrome oem dead ped is out for most. The arden, while a bit sportier in design, still fails with it's polished finish and undersized dead pedal, not to mention the high price. The F-type deserves a true supercar type set up like Ferrari or high end Porsche as exampled here. Lets all brainstorm and design ourselves a set worthy of our cars.

Somebody with an (preferably with automatic) F-Type
please measure your brake pedal and dead pedal area and provide me these measurements asap so I can confirm to the forum whether the econo ped set will fit the F-Type. It looks like the gas pedal is not an issue from the eye test.

The Manual Dimensions:
Throttle 1.5"wide x 4"tall
Brake & clutch 2"wide x 3"tall
Dead Pedal 3"wide (tapering to 4" at the bottom) x 11"tall (shorter ok).
As you can see, without the throttle extension feature offered by UP, the brake and throttle pedals are much too far apart for easy toe/heel action.

Thanks for all the pics as it makes it easier for us noobs to visualize. I'm on the fence on which version, what logo, which pedals to get and then wondering if my stupid a$$ would be able to even install them. It appears all I have to drill is two holes and screw them in, but I would find a way to mess that up.. I have an auto and will take a pic and measurements tomorrow for you. If you need to reach a certain number and need that one extra person to get the group buy done or sweeter I'll be in. I will post measurements and dimensions tomorrow.
Here is the information you requested for the auto.
Gas - 1 & 3/4 inches wide by 4 & 1/2 inches high
Brake - 4 & 1/2 inches wide by 3 & 1/2 inches high
Dead - from top to bottom it's 10 inches and flares out similar to how Unhingd stated.
(2 inches at top and 4 inches at 10, it widens down to 2.5 inches at 5 inches from top and to 3 inches at 6 and half inches from top and finishes just under 4 inches at 10 inches.

Given the difficulty measuring the carpeted dead pedal, I suspect both are identical. This also makes most sense since the dead pedal is a feature of the chassis, and it is extremely unlikely they would build different chassis based on transmission type.

You're thinking the chassis of a XJ is the same as an F-Type?
No, I believe Unhingd was referencing mine and his dimensions on the dead pedal. It looks to be the same regardless of manual or auto.
OK get it know after reading posts again. You can get the cheaper dead pedal with leaper engraving buy buying the set at $30 and you can sell the gas and brake or just hang on to them. UP wanted $85 for their dead alone.
I thought I read somewhere on the forum that the size of the dead pedal area changed in 2016 (for both the automatic and manual versions of the car)?
That is correct. The dead pedal area is more narrow on the '16... all models. The OEM dead pedal accessory looks out of place and is too wide for the '16 models.
Hey guys just letting you know I went ahead and bought the Cheapo ped set plus dead pedal and two aluminum heel plates for $68! For this price it's basically a no brainier because if I can match up the carbon fiber, I'm going to wrap them, punch holes into them and insert the grommets.
I think the set will look great in carbon and not introduce another finish.
I'll post pics after.
If someone wants to carry the torch here, UP owner is a cool guy and easy to work with. Good luck
