SDD help on programming CFF and updating firmware for amp.

SDD help on programming CFF and updating firmware for amp.
I have been trying to update my amp firmware to support an upgraded surround sound system. I have purchased several amps over the period of time doing upgrades.
I have upgraded the head unit to support Surround Sound Effects by editing the RSJB CFF file. The problem I have had is when I update the amp software it apparently doesn't update the amp properly. I'm thinking it's because it uses the AS_BUILT CCF data. Is this correct?
So the question is do I have to combine the AS_BUILT CCF with the RSJB CCF? ( Combine as built and calibration file update in the system utilities?)
It's telling me that software management is not enabled on this tester, please contact technical support)
I am currently not in coded access, as I've purchased coded access many times but don't want to keep wasting my access while I try to learn how to update the amp software properly.
I am not sure that the AS_Built CCF should be changed or not and how to do that.
Guidance appreciated!

This software is the key to everything.
With the same update procedure, you must disguise the original files of the premium amplifier, and rename them in the name of the files that sdd writes in the ccf with the amplifier with which it was born together with the car.
Update the ccf as I wrote above, and you're done.
Here I gave you my experience of months of work to update without any results.

Modify three consecutive fields of the CCF
1) Audio from Highline to Premium
2) Small center speaker
3) With subwoofer

I'm not sure I understand this part. Though I did see the other thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-wrong-221956/
Which talked about using softwaredownload.html in the SDD Runtime directory, module programming tab was selected and the appropriate vbf file was loaded.
I haven't used that before, so the question is do I go to the module programming and configure new module or configure existing module then select audio amplifier?
The amp I have in the car which works for only the Sub and the main speakers, but not the surround sound is the high amp.
I have several amps which are the premium ones but they were probably programmed for the F-Type, thus why they sounded terrible with the XF, but reprogramming the amp always borked them as I probably had the system thinking it wasn't the original AMP.

Yes, I can use SDD. I have done all of the CCF which you mentioned for the speakers and amps.

Let me know which version of premium Amp you use.
Let me know which original version of Highline Amp was born with the car.
Let me know the model and year of registration of the car.
So let's try together to reprogram the premium amplifier firmware. Ok?
Give me time to help, because I'm inundated with work, but I will do everything I can. We hope well

Morning all
I have been trying for over a week to fix an failed Audio Amp update, i now have no audio in the car , even the parking sensors don't bleep any more , i'm new to Jaguars and SDD, i used to do a lot of coding and firmware updates on my previous BMW so using a laptop on a car isn't new to me. The car is always connected to a power source and the battery icon in SDD is always green
So hears my story.
I have had the car 2010 X351 Portfolio for just over a month, 2 weeks ago i starting getting an intermittent Suspension warning come up on the dash, invested in a Vxdiag SDD Nano and a copy of SDD.
When i connected to the car i couldn't find any DTC related to suspension, but under the Extras tab it advised i needed to update a few modules, which i started to do and all went as well as expected, until i got to the amp update, it failed after about 10 minutes with an unspecified error, i now have no audio in the car and the Audio/Video button on the information screen is greyed out, i also have no SatNav.
Over the past week i have tried many versions of SDD all re-installed on a fresh Windows 7, using 3 different laptops and i still cant get it to finish the update without a error message, sometimes the update will only run for 1 minute before its crashes with an error at block 42 etc etc, other times it will run for 15 minutes of so before it crashes at block 230 etc etc.
Can anyone please give me some pointers on where i;m going wrong, or if one of you can fix this for me, i will pay and don't mind traveling. Its too bloody cold to be sitting in the car for hours every night trying to fix this.
Thanks in advance
Al

Misterbish,
I don't have solution for you, I do have exactly the same problem with My F Type audio.
Amplifier flash failed.
Using VXdiag Nano and various versions of SDD on Win 7 32 bit.
Like your situation the flash fails at different points (different block numbers)
I am wondering if the VXDIAG nano is having communication problems.
I know that although VXdiag and the official SDD VCI are connected via USB the software dates from many years ago and seems to expect an older serial port. (Com port)
When installing SDD and the VXdiag nano it seems to use a virtual com port driver.
My theory is that there may be flow control problems with the VXdiag sending large amounts of data when flashing and possibly not responding fast enough to suspend data transmission if the CANbus is busy or a amplifier flash buffer is not processed fast enough (buffer over run)
This could be entirely wrong, in the absence of yourself or another knowledgeable person solving this then the only option would be to try the same flash process with a different (non clone) VCI.
Unfortunately genuine VCI are typically £800 ( ten times price of VXdiag) and I am not willing to buy one in case it doesn't solve the issue.
I had hoped to borrow a genuine VCI to see if it worked to successfully flash the amplifier with my system before buying a genuine VCI or alternatively this would rule out it being caused by VXdiag.
Here's hoping someone can help us both with this

Hi Paul_59
Thank you for your response, i booked my car into a JLR specialist, they had the car for 2 days and still couldn't get the amp to flash and they have the proper kit, I had to source a replacement amp in the end, plugged it in and it worked straight out of the box. So quite a costly lessen learned.
i will not be updating any more modules any time soon, regardless of what SDD recommends.

That's surprising but does give a solution I may have to take although I feel it should be possible to reflash firmwsre after a failed flash and get the device going again.
In my case, rather foolishly in hindsight, I flashed the touchscreen and the surround sound amp so would need to replace both modules.

Hi everyone.
During this pandemic, I had way too much spear time, so I decided to do a long-planed retrofit to my LR4 2012 - upgrading from High to Premium. I've purchased all the parts, made all the wirings, installed the new amp and...all was perfect plug-and-play. Except that I didn't have the Logic7 surround function. So I went ahead and changed the CCF file accordingly, with the High to Premium, small center speaker and subwoofer. And then...went ahead and did a stupidity - tried to update the module. Got the error I saw prior (I just copy the picture here, since it is the same), and from then on bye-bye sound. Tried several times, with the same error in the end, just different block number.
Desperate to at least get the sound back, I refitted the old amplifier. All back to the ugly older normal. Is someone able to help a poor soul with a nagging wife, bitching about how I've trowed away money for nothing? I would highly appreciate it...
The amp I have installed is CH3219C164BC , from donor car SALLAAAG5CA644074.
Original was BJ32-19C164-AF
Used SDD 160, generating codes on vehcom.com

Help needed programing new amp
Let me know which version of sdd you use.
