I went ahead and did it for ya Michael. The attached, hopefully, webpage is for GRAINGER.com. They have everything you could ever imagine, online, and in-store, as they have giant warehouses for delivery. If they do not have it in stock, which is rare, they will have it for you next day for 'will call', or delivered direct from the distributor to your door to save time, or if you are lucky to have one six miles away from your house like me.

I have even been at the dealer, when they ran out of these so called, 'proprietary' and expensive fasteners, or washers. Guess who pulled up 15 minutes later to the dealer? A GRAINGER delivery vehicle, with my parts. AND, they charged their full dealership price for them, AND a delivery charge for ordering the part in; GRAINGER delivers for free. I went home and looked up the parts (washers), 0.18 cents each, or, $4.50 for 25; uhgh, just recalling that made me throw up in my mouth a little.

If not they are in every major city, and ship world-wide. You can request multiple copies of their hardback copy of their catalog, for free, which I prefer to have on hand at the car, and an online catalog. Which is where I got this webpage listing for copper crush washers, a two second search. I tried to post the webpage, but if it did not come through, I have also posted the 'plain text' version first; if the webpage loads, I will delete the text.

Note that all are packages of 25 each, and only one costs ~21 dollars for 25 washers, the rest, as you will see, are reasonably priced in the ~$2.00, ~$3.00, ~$4.50 etc., range for 25.

Ridiculous dealer mark ups on parts is why we use the internet.
Same witn any mmanufacturer.
For my Ford 2 litre Zetec, the dealers wanted Ł170 plus VAT (20%) for an OE water pump. That would be plus labour and VAT ontop of the labour
for a 2 hour job or longer if they can blag it.

A pattern water pump was Ł37 plus Ł40 for a mobile mechanic to fit it.
Compared to Ł500-Ł700 from a Ford dealer. No thanks.

Thats why we have online motorfactors for parts.
You enter youyr car reg and it tells you quikjcly what parts they can get for your car, you order and pay and they deliver usually within 24 hours to your home.
A couple of local motorfactors in town where I can go in person and they will drop the price to get a sale.

Anyone use Eurocarparts? GSF? MPD ?

My local Jaguar dealer last week refused to give me a part number for the radiator in my car. Thats a big fat lose for Jaguar. Shall'nt bother again.
Yes I will need OE Jag parts but with so many independants Jag parts suppliers online theres no way I would go through a main dealer.

 

Just be glad you don't drive a BMW; this is 2 years old so Lord knows how they charge now.
I couldn't find any current Jaguar Main Dealer prices but I guess that they won't be much different.
