Hello ladies and gents -- my introduction
Hello all -- I'm a new member living just outside Boston, Massachusetts, USA (go Pats!).
I have sort of inherited a black on black, 2005 X-Type SportWagon 3.0.
The story is a drunk driver totaled our primary family ride (2010 Ford Flex) and my mother-in-law's (who lives with us) 2000 Dodge Caravan. Our cars were parallel parked in front of our house, when at 5am on Thanksgiving morning the drunk plowed in to the back of the Flex, which then plowed into the back of the Caravan. Flex was totaled due to being banged up on both ends; Caravan was totaled because a door ding in the grocery store parking lot would have cost more to fix than it was worth.
We found an almost mint replacement for the Ford (another 2010 Flex with more bells and whistles) and also a replacement for the Caravan in the form of the Jag X-type.
I say "sort of inherited" because it had belonged to my brother-in-law and he gave it to his mother. It falls to me to keep it running.
There are a few niggles to sort out (107,000 miles will do that), but overall it's a solid car and has been fun to drive. And you don't see X-Type wagons everyday, so it's definitely got that unique factor.
See you all in the forums - I've already read a bunch and have been referencing a few specific posts on a couple of issues I'm sorting out. This place is a fantastic resource!

Welcome to the forum Frank,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Not exactly a Happy Thanksgiving!
It sounds like you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link US Northeast - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
