Much kudos to both you and Mafioso for nailing this pesky problem on your own and then posting the details here. I know you are greatly relieved to pass your local inspection and hopefully you have many trouble-free miles ahead of you now. I'm just sorry that you had to spend a significant amount of money with shops who apparently didn't have the expertise to help you. Hopefully that's all in the past for you now....

I'm sorry you missed the part number, it's listed just below the picture of the resonator.

Yeah.. I thought of that.. I also thought of completely bypassing the resonator with a straight piece of pipe as well. At that point I really just wanted everything fixed so I could get my car inspected. For $99 I got a new denso valve actuator, new hoses, a resonator and a shiny new black bracket. lol!

When I opened his hood and he started the engine I heard an abnormal hiss spending so much time under the hood measuring and plotting my evil plans I've learned what noises are normal and what aren't my first thought was the pass side PCV which the o ring was worn out so we replaced that. Then the orings to the PCV diaphragm and the hiss got better and the map sensor readings got better but the hiss returned so we went down the whole evaporate circuit and he noticed the resonator was cracked and bam fixed.
Btw on our quick connectors harbor freight sells an oring box for $10 assortment box. Which does have the rings that fit perfect in the connectors I urge people to get a box to refresh the connectors.

Do you have a part # and maybe even make for that O-ring box please? It's not going to be realistic to order from here but maybe I can track down an equivalent. (I have smaller plumbing-type boxes but could do with car ones.)

Here is the link for the o-ring kit, although a little execessive in the variety a good buy none the less.
