Not dead or buried yet. Insurance has finally seen the car and determined that the damage is to the bumper cover and front under tray. Trans oil cooler bracket needs to be replaced. As soon as they get the car to me it will be repaired. Hopefully this week! Stay tuned. Looking forward to this group.

Mechanically the car drives very well and drivetrain is smooth. Went to get the emissions test and it failed! Code P1000. The tester asked me if I recently had work done on the car. I don't know! He tells me to drive the car to complete the computer testing in the car. Well, I can't drive it without a tag and I can't get a tag without the emissions passing. WTF!!! I did get the title, so I made a copy of the receipt and taped to an old tag and covered it with plastic wrap. Then wrote on it "Tag applied for". So far no police. Each day I drive it out of town on the freeway and back on city streets. I then check it with my OBD2 reader. For 5 days I get the P1000 code with the "EV" blinking on it. Today I got the P1111 code and nothing blinking on the screen! Can I pass the emissions test now??

I would think so. Sounds like you met the proper amount of drive cycles to get it to P1111

UPDATE: Got it in great shape mechanically and runs perfect. Now working on the cosmetics part. A few interior scratches and scrapes on the outside. Got a good guy for that. Repainting the wheels, roof, front bumper and 3 door handles. Getting closer. Many thanks to Dr. Dome for some of the fiddly parts! It's been a long haul, but worth it in the long run!

Lookin' good Lew! Can't wait to get mine back to the States so I can do the same kind of work to mine. Thanks for the inspiration.

Just finished my last planned upgrade I have been working on since March. I added after market reverse park sensors. Bought the OEM trim piece and mounted the sensors in it. (That's another story!). Used an aftermarket system I bought from ebay. $8!!

No the hood doesn't pop, only the bottom bumper cover and the under tray, but make sure it not damage the bottom of radiator or the transmission fluid cooler and AC hose.
