Hood Emblem
Sup ya'll!
So i just got my hood ornement (hoodie) stolen. like im sure it has happend to alot of you.
So now i wana know whats the best way to restore my kitty's dignity?
The dealer wants $280 for it, but i dont wana spend that much
Wrecking yard has it $160 used
And Ebay has very cheap prices but half of them are probebly stolen and i dont want to support the people that did this to my car. And the other half must be some kinda knock-off brand.
Whats best?
After i get it, i need to find a way this wont happen again. will a thicker cable do the trick? Please help. And thanks for taking the time to read this.

This is part of the reason current cars don't do hood ornaments anymore. You're better of using Exexpat's Leaper Delete Mod if you don't wanna lose it again: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...=Leaper+Delete

WOW, Exexpat's idea look pretty cool.
BUT, i kno most of you wont agree with me. But theres something about the leaper that makes its more Jag then anything else. Im gonna try to keep it stock as much as i can... plus the chicks dig it lol
I found the leaper on Jagbits.com for $109 oem. seems like a good deal. Has anyone ever shopped there? are they legit?

You should be fine going with Jagbits.
Sure you don't want one of these?

Actually, maybe I hope you don't. It's what I have and it makes my X a bit different.

i bought one of the ebay ones, the ad showed it as a full assembly, when it showed up it was obviously a stolen used one...not happy...
i had to rig it up differently to get it attached because the cable on it has a sort of cup on it that is what actually holds it into the plastic assembly... its very easy to break which is why the hoods dont get damaged. not its held on with a nut and bolt through the cable and 2 sided tape under the base of it to stop the slight bit of slack it had. its going to be harder for someone to steal but its still doable, i just hope they dont wreck the hood.

Here's the link to the one I bought and it's cheaper than I thought. It looks and feels great.
