I've just noticed on the sat nav disk box in the boot that it says Dvd on it. Can you play film DVDs on it to keep your passengers happy on a long journey or will it only take the map disks.

it's only use is for the Nav disk...

 

In order to achieve what you want a device such as Navtool can connect a DVD player to the Display. Thats what I installed.
Navtool is way overpriced and with very poor tech support.
