Airbag light on, no codes?
Hi there,
I am trying to fix an airbag light, that's been on for couple if months. I don't have any codes:
I went for a new clock spring, since most times that seems to be the problem. I got a used one from EBay, just because I wasn't sure, than that's the problem ( since no code on - I think it was code 19?).
The instalation went really smooth, but the light didn't go off - it's just the same as before!
I wondered what else could it be - maybe new airbag?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

I am still looking for the same condition.
Items to check are...
Wiring under the seat
Seat module
Seat belt latch switch
Clock spring
Seat belt pre tensioners
Center collision sensor
Drivers airbag
Passenger airbag
The airbag and pre tensioners should measure 2 to 3 ohms. Measure only with an electronic meter so that the current does not set of the air bag. Note that the airbag connections short the pins together when they are unplugged.
As I understand it, the airbag module does a system check to verify each of the airbag connections.
I will be interested to follow what you find.

I have an intermittent airbag light. If I move the drivers seat base up, the light stays out. It will stay out in cold weather also. I have the Auto Enginuity Scanner with Jag enhancement. It was able to read a code for Drivers Seat Airbag. Because moving the
seat causes the light to come on or stay off, it is most likely wiring under the seat. Try moving the seat to a different position and then start the car. You might find a position where the light stays out. Not a fix, but it helps isolate the problem.
The clock spring does your cruise control and steering wheel radio volume. I replaced
my clockspring and it fixed those two, but not my intermittent airbag light.
