That explains the non stainless Phillips head non matching screws through the scoop into the bonnet.

Something positive we can learn from this car, is should we ever badly scratch some of the door panel material, here's an idea how to fix it so no one sees it.

I thought the interior wasn't modified, but I was wrong.

I love the original color combination this car had. Those that know their stuff, what's the exterior color name?

No assumptions on the owner...

Is that Radiance Red? Jag has several variants of the same color, but Radiance Red is most famous of the group.

Yes, that's Radiance Red, just like mine, same year, except I seem to be missing the Leaper, Hood scoop, and outrageous wheels.

Why do you say the interior was modified? Am I missing something in the image you posted?

What's to the right of the shift knob?

Its a great color, I did some image searches on it, very beautiful on Jaguars even beyond the XK. It looks great on the coupe, and gorgeous on the drop top.

Look below the window sill, a chromed piece of plastic trim has been glued to the inner door panel. I didn't catch it at first, but did on further reflection.

Looks wicked on the XJ350 with chrome brightwork.

Good eye!
That must be where the air from the hood scoop comes out!

If you're talking about 'to the right' when looking at the image, I think you're seeing the leather trim on the side of the console, where it angles up to meet the side of the center stack.

I think the item on the console at 1 o'clock to the gearshift may be the speed limiter button.

Yes it is. The question is, what is Stuart looking at?

Looking at the enlarged thumbnail from my phone there appeared to be a dark fuzzy blob shape to the right of the shift knob. After getting home, I looked at that thumbnail from my PCs large screen and clearly saw that the blob was actually the ash tray.
