Default Update on part search....still no part

Guys,
Today I spent several hours on the phone and the computer and the following vendors confirmed that they can NOT get the hose I need.
1.coventry west
2.jagbits
3.ems restorations
4.a parts store in England
5.british recyclers.....is suppose to call me back Tuesday
I think that I will be selling this low milage XKR that has been in the family for 12 years as soon as I get this repaired.I cant deal with these issues,if you can your better than me!

Call the following:

HOSE-FULL LOAD B - Terrys Jaguar Parts - AJ87233

AJ87233 | HOSE-FULL LO | Jaguar | | Britcar (UK) Ltd

Lots of listings for the second part # in Europe if you're not in a super hurry and don't forget the bigger salvage yards like LKQ. You can inquire of them if they can find a used one off a low mileage XK8 or XKR that will work.

Default Part search update....still need help

LKQ said that they do not stock any hoses or pipes and I called 4 locations.

Terrys does not have the part nor can they get the part.

The source over seas is still researching.

Thanks

Have you checked with Tony from Paragon Design UK (XKRacer) He's one of the forum members If he can't get it might be able to make it for you. He's been a valuable asset to this forum over the last four or five years.

Default One more update....still need help

I want to thank everyone for your suggestions but unfortunately all of the vendors have zeroed out,Tony suggested that I would have to make a
hose myself.
I am not thrilled with jimmy rigging a high performance vehicle but it looks like it may be my only alternative so I will start the process of patching the car together.
It is so hard to believe that there is not a new, aftermarket,or used/salvaged hose but I have spent hours and hours on this research to no avail.
If anyone has any other ideas please let me know,Thanks.

Puma or anyone else who may need this hopes in the future here's a note I got yesterday from a European parts distributor who can get either the old or new part # (the old number is 10-15% cheaper)

The website is http://partsale.eu and the individual that responded to my request is named Dana Kareiva. I found them listed after a long search with both part #'s and they listed both numbers. I was able to put both into my cart as a test but did not complete the sale as I only wanted to know if they really had them. I emailed their sales dept. and got a reply late Monday afternoon.

Their email response follows

Dear Robert,

Thank you for your email!

We dont have these parts in stock. We can order them for you from factory warehouse.
Estimated delivery terms to our sorting centre takes 2-4 weeks.

To check delivery cost, please add the items in cart and specify your address.

Our system will automatically calculate your shipping price.

If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me.

Best regards.

Default Great Source/RDMinor

RD,
Many thanks for a new source.....one thing I have learned in the past several months is getting parts for a 2003 Jag is not a fun process and you cant have too many options,I am sure that its only a matter of time before I use this new parts store.

Default Got me worried?

I unfortunately moved my crank case breather pipe and managed to snap it. Yes they are very brittle. After research I found this part number AJ88622 Barrett parts here in the UK have confirmed its the right part and its in stock.

But after reading your story I am concerned. Are you saying you have tried this part and its too short? The part I think we are both talking about is below.

Thank you! Mine is winging its way to me as I write this. Seems a bit silly for Jaguar to replace a part with an inferior part. It's not as though they are cheap. Mine is going to cost £56 in British pounds, roughly $86.

Not the sort of thing you want to break again fitting it! Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Sometimes when stuff like that happens, it is useful to take a step back and try and discover the name of the "technology" instead of focusing on the part number from Jaguar. This is of course a scenario where one would try and re-build a home-made workable solution close to the factory part. I have no hard answer, but I have run across this type of hose connections before, e.g. my 2004 VW Jetta (Mk IV, 4th generation) used at least a couple of them. I have a hard time believing this is really a dead end...
