Xk8 rear subframe drop
Hello, I need to drop my xk8 rear subframe since I just suffered an accident and one part of it is bent. Can I pull out the rear subframe on my driveway with jack-stands etc... or do I need to get a 2 point hoist? Also what are the chances of the wishbone bending? Thank you

Hi - sorry to hear about your accident.
I removed my rear subframe using axle stands and a cheap trolley jack.
Job would have been dead easy if it hadn't been for one of the a-frame bushes refusing to part company with the chassis pin!
I jacked mine up just under the diff using a block of wood to prevent damage.
Put 2 x 3 ton axle stands under the rear jacking points.
Undid all the bolts (see JTIS), handbrake etc.
undid the rear exhaust rubbers
Dropped the suspension down enough to squeeze my arm and a 10mm rachet to undo the top exhaust mounts.
Dropped it down on the trolley jack.
I'm just in the process of stripping it to paint everything.

Good luck
