2000 XKR with cdc. Old one was not engaging the cds and would see the magazine inserted, it would then run through the 6 plates and then nothing would engage. Took it apart per instructions. Everything moves probably by hand, did recommended lubrication (used sewing machine oil- quite pure and light oil) tried again and in same position. Got a used from Ebay (same model number)- hooked it up and it did the same thing with the exception of telling me that I had error "E01" First one would say no CD.
So where is the problem?

Second and perhaps of better interest, how hard is it to replace head unit with cd and nav integrated and what models has anyone used. Are there fiber optic connections in this model and if I just want to rewire the entire thing- how much work involved in that?
