Does anyone know where the 'reverse signal wire' is in a 98 XJR?

I need to know where it is near the gearbox as the head unit that I have has a 'camera wire' that has to be connected to a reverse signal so the screen automatically switches to the 'rear camera' output when reverse gear is selected.

Get it from the reverse lamp. You can use a small wire to run to the back like it were an amp wire, and whenever your car is put in reverse, the lamps turn on and therefore send the signal to your back-up unit.

 

I know I can get if from the reverse lamp, but that means running a wire through the whole length of the car.Can I not get it from some where near the auto box?

 

and drill a hole through your firewall?
