Allowable mounting depth for front speakers: X-Type?
Allowable mounting depth for front speakers: X-Type?
So what's the deal? How much room do I have in the front doors? The speakers I'm looking at have a mounting depth of almost 3", will this be too much? They have to be a stealth install or I'm not interested, I like the OEM look. Thanks!

IF you use these and possibly a 1/2 MDF Ring to space the speaker you will be fine.

There isnt that much room in the door, however the factory speaker sits on a pod that protrudes almost 2" out. So this with the mdf ring will work well. Just spray paint the ring black so you can't see it through the factory grille and no one will ever know they are there.
