Car play was formally announced recently. I'm wondering about the feasibility of installing it in my 1998 VDP. I love my car, but I hate my sound system. Two or three times now I've installed an iPod cable, but the cable has failed and need to be replaced. Is there any that are solution? I have the original head unit and the CD stack in the back.

I'm a full on Apple head, and even considering having a custom mini iPad installed. But car place seems to be the perfect solution. Are there any car guys here in Southern California have done this on a Jaguar?
