I just picked up a '04 XJ8 for a great price to have around as extra car.


My '95 XJ6 has been abused to death by my sons over the years.


Years ago I put an Alpine CD changer in the '95 that plugged directly into the radio head unit.


Would that CD changer possibly plug into the '04 XJ8?

 

Alas no. The 04 XJ8 is using a fiber optic network for all audio and is not compatible with the old Alpine control scheme.

You can get an old CD-changer from X-Type or S-Type 2003+.
