Question Touch Screen Retro Fit

Hi All,

I know this has been covered loads of times but I'm a little bit stuck.

I have a 2004 3.0 X-Type with out Sat Nav, just the digital climate and a CD player (With multi changer).

I have purchased a Denso touch screen and heater control unit. (Not going for the full Sat Nav Install, just the screen for now).

My question is:
1. How does the CD communicate with the screen when you fix them together?
2. How does the screen communicate with the heater control unit?
Looking at the pin diagram of the screen, all I need is power, earth and illumination feeds. The rest of the pins seem to be for Sat Nav.

From what I have read, both heater control plugs go into the new black box. The CD keeps the same plug, aerial and fiber optic lead. I can supply power to the screen. Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything or need any more parts before I start to install.

I have put the pictures of What I have ready to fit.

Any and all help is very much appreciated.

John.

Bad news I am afraid.

The DVD unit (not the CD) in the trunk holds the Firmware and the software and handles all the communication between the screen, the audio and the heater control.
So its an all or nothing situation.
you can usually pick up a DVD unit on Ebay, better if you can find one in a scrap yard and get the wiring loom for it also.
